Ontario International Airport (ONT) to Disneyland: 4 Best Transportation Options for Your Family Trip

Disneyland

By the moment you first look at Mickey, Minnie and that magic castle, you already have a picture of the face of your children. This is why it is so convenient to make plans to visit with your family Disneyland. Nevertheless, before the fun itself, there is always the practical side of travelling to get ready. Luckily, by the time you land in Ontario international airport (ONT), you have already taken one of the best decisions that pertain to your trip.

Compared to the John Wayne Airport or the heavy traffic in the LAX, the Ontario Airport is much less hectic. It is not as extensive, complex, and terribly overcrowded, that is, no long queues, no mazing terminals, no baggage and children running through the crowd of people. The baggage clearance and door take only a few minutes and when you are travelling with small children, it is a miracle.

Nevertheless, once on land, the big question is, what is the fastest, safest and stress free way of getting at Ontario Airport to Disneyland? You do not wish to experience the hassle of having to board a train at the end of a long flight or not knowing when your ride share would come. And that is where a good car rental can be useful. You will be able to drive at your own pace in your personal car – you can make snack breaks, listen to the favorite songs of your children and have fun during the ride of 35-40 minutes to Anaheim without the time and strangers issue.

The answer depends on your family’s size, budget, schedule, and how much flexibility you want. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the best transportation options from Ontario Airport to Disneyland, including our top recommendation for families: renting a car through Mr. Rent a Car.

1. Rent a Car from Ontario International Airport – The Best Option for Families

Renting a car by far is the most convenient and family friendly way of getting between ONT and Disneyland. Think of it, another minute in a road with children is a million years. You do not have to drag one bag, auto seats, and small exhausted travelers and circle around a shuttle or even have to guest a forbidding ride hare pickup zone. Being a car owner is a freedom, you lack the freedom to walk out whenever you feel like, to have a snack in the middle of it or to make a little trip to the cup of coffee (because, it is a fact, parents use energy, too).

It is that freedom that starts immediately you get off the plane in the case of Mr. Rent a Car. You may pick your rented car at Ontario Airport, and therefore there is no sense in dragging you with transfer and complex procedure. Their line is smooth, fast and it is targeted at the family who may want to be on their way to Disneyland without any inconveniences.

Need to borrow a large SUV due to the stroller, the luggage and maybe even two stuffed Disney characters that will be put in the ride back? Or a cool and comfortable sedan to be on a little trip with the family? Mr. As the company offering a huge selection of clean and well-kept cars, Rent a Car can accommodate the needs of any kind of traveler. The crew is friendly and accommodating, and you will like it when you carry little children with you and the crew will make sure you have everything you need even before you set out on the road.

The best part? At Mrrentacar.com, you can pre-book a rental and therefore, when you get there, it is pick up, buckle up and go. It’s that simple.

Benefits of renting a car:

Renting a Car

Renting an Ontario Airport car does not only get you to Disneyland, but it also gives you infinity over your entire trip throughout to the end.

First of all, it has a direct route to Disneyland over a very short distance of 40-50 minutes depending on the traffic jams. It is no sitting around pumping your shuttle, no filling and emptying in other transits, and waiting like an ass to have your ride-share pick you up in good time. You can park, get your keys and be away almost seconds and it is a huge win when you have jovial children screaming, we are there yet you have not out of the airport.

One of them is a rental car that lets you stop by to make some food or food stops in between. You might want to bring snacks or water and sunscreen, or have a quick bite before driving to the park, it is easy to pull at a grocery store, coffee shop or drive-through and not be worried about paying an extra fee, or taking a detour. This is highly useful especially to those families, which like to keep things in order (and to make sure that the children are happy).

A rental car literally means a savior to the families of young children or numerous bags. Space will be sufficient, then, to bring the strollers, and the diaper bags, and the extra clothes, and all those plush toys in the shape of a souvenir which multiply each time you get on a ride. And you can leave it in the automobile secure between the destinations which you cannot do in a train transport or a ride-share.

This is succeeded by the greatest part that is the liberty to visit the Southern California beyond Disneyland. The reason can be a lazy day in Huntington Beach or one of your day outings at Los Angeles Zoo or shopping in Ontario Mills or South Coast Plaza but with your own car, you can do whatever your mood dictates you to do. None of the delays, no time-tables, no finishes, no plans- the open road and the open horizon. and when you are at Anaheim you will shortly know how much of that liberty you have.

With a car, it is very much easy to drive to the restaurants, hotels or even to the shops that are situated around the park, this is mainly because everybody is tired of working in the park and after a hard day of work, everybody wishes to take a break and therefore is willing to drive to the restaurants or the hotels or even the stores which are very close to the park. You can have dinner, visit grocery store or simply visit your hotel at your time.

Simply put, renting a car provides your family with flexibility, space, and convenience and transforms a simple Disneyland trip into a full-fledged South California adventure that would be comfortable, easy and entirely on your own conditions.

2. Ride-Sharing (Uber/Lyft)

And even, should you not feel like driving at all, you can also enlist the services of such ride-sharing applications like Uber or Lyft which can also make you reach Disneyland though not by a car. The number of drivers outside the terminals is high and the pick up procedure is not a major issue generally. The ride may range between 35 to 45 minutes and cost between 70 and 100 dollars based on the traffic. The cost will vary with time of the day and the type of vehicle that you are using.

To the small families or couples who may be staying in a hotel in or close to Disneyland, and who may be on foot, this can be a hustle free, hands-free way of reaching your destination place without the hustle of getting around by way of navigation or parking. All one has to do is fill the car seats, press on the Confirm Ride button and you are off.

Despite that, a few considerations are to be made. It might seem simple to share a ride, but the surge pricing will soon become an extra expense to your budget especially during peak times like in the mornings, weekends or even after closing of the park when everyone wants to get a ride. Waiting time is likely to grow as well which may be challenging in situations where you are using fatigued kids (or parents) who feel like they are willing to go back to the hotel after a stressful day at Disneyland.

3. Private Shuttle or Airport Transfer

The second option to be considered especially in the instance of a large number of individuals traveling or a large family is to contract a personal shuttle service between the Ontario Airport to the Disneyland. These will be convenience and comfort based services that will involve airport to hotel or resort door to door services within Anaheim. You also have the benefit of evading the traffic jam, parking, and ride-sharing congestions to accommodate as many occupants as possible in a single car. Instead, the professional driver does all the work as you and your family have a rest after your flight.

Ontario Airport is surrounded with a variety of reputable companies that operate its own shuttles and vans. They will be now bookable by the Internet, and so your driver will be standing by immediately you get off the ground – there is neither a line nor speculation. The majority of these shuttles contain huge seats, air conditioners and space to accommodate the surplus luggage, strollers and other souvenir items, and are thus one of the most useful ones especially to the families that have young kids or those who have a lot of equipment.

Concerning the prices to the prices will be between 100 and 200 dollars depending on how many people you are traveling with, the kind of cars to be used and the quantity of the luggage you are carrying. That might be a little expensive to the average citizen, but when shared between a couple of other passengers the cost per head might be cheapened and the luxury of being driven to your hotel doorstep can also prove a great stress reliever at the end of a long day of traveling.

And with that stated, the large trade-off is flexibility. In Anaheim, there is not a lot to do as far as transportation is concerned. You shall need to use hotel shuttle, a bus, or any other ride-hails in case you want to go outside of Disneyland to places including the beach, local restaurants, and other attractions in Southern California.

4. Public Transportation

Yes, technically speaking, it is possible to take a bus to Disneyland by public transit after leaving Ontario international airport (IDENT) but it is not the easiest or most comfortable path that majority of such families will choose to take. The route is tiresome, complex and in between transfers that can turn one impatient post flight. Through local Omni trans bus, which one can get to the airport using the local transportation, it is generally possible to reach Anaheim using Metrolink train station which can then be followed by a train to Anaheim and the rideshare, taxi, or bus to Disneyland. It is a form of a logistical juggle- Act, which is by no means perfect in cases when you have to bring with you a few of your exhausted children and some bags.

As much as this would be appropriate to the requirements of a single tourist, a student or a backpacker with a limited budget, then it does not accommodate a family. Handling of the luggage, carrying small children and reading newspapers that were not seen before in the process of changing buses to trains can easily make what seemed to be fun first day in vacation turn out to be a nightmare of time-wasting and stress. Imagine that you are folding a stroller, holding a toddler, and you have an eye on your luggage and you are rushing to your next flight. It is not that much the magic start of Disneyland most families long to see.

The span travelled overall travelling time may be truly greater than 2.5 to 3 hours following schedules and traffic, and time loss waiting at transfer points. and since the connecting between Ontario and Anaheim is not designed in such a way that transit is continuous at any given time, you might find yourself spending hours between transit stops, now in the rain, now in the sun and now with incredibly bad facilities that can assist you with your family. It is low-cost, yet what cost of time, convenience, sanity.

Majority of the parents do not anticipate ever doing anything after a flight, they simply want to arrive at their hotel where they can check in and leave the kids to rest or sleep before the fun commences. But in the majority of situations, such flexibility is not provided by the public transport. Delays, luggage in hand, transfers, etc. it is easy to find yourself in Anaheim exhausted more than enthusiastic.

This is why in the case of most of the families visiting Disneyland, renting a car is just the solution. In the case of Mr. Rent a Car, you do not need to go through the complex ways of taking the journey, enter the airport and then proceed to the hotel or to a Disneyland parking lot, as a 35-45-minute ride is enough to get there in this case. No moving around, no waiting, no pressure. All one needs to do is to jump in, strap on and take a relaxing ride with a cool air-conditioned car straight to the destination.
